Student doctor network cardiology fellowship

Feb 1, 2008 · I would be interested to hear everyones opinion on the quality of training and public perception of the following card programs: (after Penn). How would you rank them?.

Basically, I'm looking for great clinical training, a reasonable workload, and ability to go on to an interventional or EP fellowship.If by combined peds anesthesia and CC fellowship you mean picu fellowship, you MUST do a peds residency. In addition, combined peds anes/PICU fellowships are a thing of the past because of the ABA/ABP rules on doing 2 ACGME fellowships at one time. I did one, and the issues surrounding certification in both are serious.

No fellowship will prefer you over an equally qualified (or even less qualified) AMG.

These are fairly different types of subspecialties - one is much more cerebral (as you pointed out) while the other can be much more procedural. Whether that’s due to over applying and top people pulling in greater numbers or due to dilution of the pool (so many people over applied that it makes more people vying for every spot it’s now random chance) or if there’s more waves to come, really no way to know.
