It would probably be cheaper just to buy a set of plain stamped valve covers. The process is not too much different than refinishing a body panel...you'll need to scuff the surface to hold paint, use a metal conditioner or self-etching primer, and paint. Any pits left will stick out like a sore thumb.You can use regular paint on the valve covers because they don't get that hot. Valve cover should be about the same temp as your engine coolant, 180-200 degrees, while running. I have painted covers before with regular Krylon paint with no issues.
