Narrowband vs wideband o2

The "goal" for narrowbands at wot is .890-.910 or so, but has anyone verified that with a wideband? My car is running with voltages in the .940's because i'm afraid to take anymore fuel out for fear of lean conditions. Whats the correlation between o2 voltage and air/fuel ratio from a wideband? ie: .900 volts = 12.8:1 a/f, .940 = 12.4:1 a/f ....

All I …The standard (narrow band) O2 sensor can tell the ECU if the motor is rich or lean. The wideband can tell how much it is rich or lean and therefore make it possible to keep the engine at near perfect stoichiometric. Narrow band varies from rich to lean and hopefully averages out to stoichiometric. Can you straight swap a factory narrowband sensor for a wideband?Want to learn how to tune EFI? Start here instantly, and for free: https://bit.ly/EngineTuni...Wideband oxygen sensors however have the ability to read from less than 1 volt to 5 volts. This, in turn, gives them the ability to sense air-fuel ratios from as low as 10:1 to as high as 20:1. In most cases, we would want to see AFRs in the 12.8 to 13.0 range at maximum horsepower, and a bit leaner in some cases at 13.5 for maximum torque.

To summarize, a narrow band O2 sensor is only able to tell a computer (or gauge, for that matter) whether an engine is operating above or below a 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio. Wide Band O2 Sensors where developed in the early '90s as vehicle manufacturers began looking to obtain air/fuel ratio information under all circumstances.Support Those Who Support The GarageFor more tuning content check out our partner Elite Tuned School:http://www.elitetunedschool.comCheck out the latest tuni...wideband realities the truth about oxygen sensors limitations narrowband vs wideband o2 sensors dynojet oxygen sensor wideband control kits ... narrowband vs wideband o2 sensors dynojet Mar 20 2024 narrowband sensors the guessing game of fuel tuning narrowband sensors only know three things lean rich and stoich depending on the oxygenDate Rate. – When talking about narrowband, we are talking about signals that are 100 kHz or smaller in bandwidth, which is fundamentally determined by the data rate. Narrowband systems typically have lower data rate transmissions, whereas the wideband systems support relatively higher data rate transmissions.

Description. Unitronic is pleased to present it's plug and play Wideband ECU Conversion Harness. Designed to easily convert your vehicle's wiring harness to accept a wideband oxygen sensor and Bosch 1.8T Wideband ECU. Narrowband ECU's do not have the ability to provide dynamic lambda control, therefore, many tuners, including Unitronic, …Narrowband vs. Wideband A narrowband O2 sensor only informs the computer if your engine is running rich or lean. A wideband sensor measures how rich or how lean the ratio is. Upstream vs. Downstream Upstream O2 sensors are positioned before the catalytic converter; downstream sensors are after it. A wideband o2 sensor is much more sophisticated than a narrowband sensor, and can be relied upon to be used as a tuning tool. Wideband sensors not only are a lot faster acting in the reading, but can tell you the exact a/f ratio that the motor is currently at. So instead of just telling the ECU that the motor is running rich, it will read a ...Narrowband O2 Sensors. Narrowband O2 sensors typically have either 1,2,3 or 4 wires and they all work basically the same way; the output signal will flip from 0V to 1V when the air-fuel ratio goes richer than the stoichiometric air to fuel ratio of 14.7:1, it then flips back to 0V when the measured air-fuel ratio goes leaner than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio of 14.7:1 or lambda of 1.The latest generation of "wideband" oxygen sensors from Robert Bosch are smarter, faster, more durable and capable of precisely measuring exact air/fuel ratios -a feat that was impossible with earlier generations of O2 sensors. Traditionally, oxygen sensors have been used to monitor the level of unburned oxygen in the exhaust.

rockledge fl craigslist There is a huge difference in wide vs narrow band 02 sensors. Wide band typically use the bosch developed UEGO sensor/cable setup, which allows for precise A/F measurements above the 1:5 ratio that a narrow band (stock setup) can provide. This is significant in that a modified car needs feedback greater than 1:5 ration for A/Fs if you …You need to buy an AFR gauge but there are so many options.
