Here is a few of pictures of the seat frame for mounting aftermarket seats in a FJ40. Its in kit form. The back bar will be in two pieces one with a insert tube welded for alignment. The front bar will be in three pieces also with insert tubes welded. This way I can ship it flat...Currently I own 2 - 1979 FJ40's and a 1982 FJ40 with the "Gray" seats, rollbar, and jump seats. The closest color I got was Rustoleum "Glossy Dark Gray". Here are some pics I just sprayed a sample black rollbar clamp for comparison. I paid $3.99 at Home Depot. Purchased the Cruiser Corp seat covers for front and back of my 1977 FJ40. First, the seat covers are extremely well made. The fabric is very supple and looks very durable.The seat mod isn't needed on the later models ('79 and later). My 1981 vintage FJ40 has tons of leg room. On the down side, there is no room under the seats for a heater (or something else -- I used to keep a box of tools under my seat in my 1975 FJ40).
