I got rid of the pickup almost 4 years ago and it was still running great with over 485,000 miles. I traded the 4Runner in on the FJ and it had over 325,000 miles. My FJ gets the oil changed every 5000 miles, the transfer case and diffs have been changed out at about 50-75,000, and the auto transmission has been down once around 100,000.I bought my FJ used and seller didn’t have the guide. The guide mentioned above recommendeds transmission fluid change at 120K but only under special conditions and changing the diff oil only under special conditions at 15k. I knew that didn’t sound right. Thank you for the replies and for posting the correct guide

Disconnect a line up front (at my tranny cooler) since it's easy to get to. Open the filler plug on the side of the tranny and stick in a filler tube and funnel. Put a drain bottle under the open line. Start it up to pump out a couple of quarts at a time. Shut it down.
