RCN cable customer service is pretty bad in my experience. RCN fiber is a totally different tiny org, and you talk with roughly the same 30 or so people on the entire Chicago team when dealing with them at the moment. Basically a different company, I was pleasantly surprised on my recent install.I've had RCN fiber for about 6 months. Works perfectly fine. I've never had an outage in my neighborhood. I switched from ATT fiber since it was $20 more a month and they made you use their stupid gateway. I'm happy with RCN.
