There's also the Zamorakian Spear, which is a dragon spear with whip speed, and the Saradomin Sword, which is a dumbed down godsword. i think sarasword is pretty fast. if you wanna take that into consideration. anyway yes. whip is still good. Sarasword are te exact same speed as whips, and exact same stats as a whip, just their 2 handed.The only way to get Strength experience while using the whip is to use the "controlled" attack setting, which gives experience in all melee stats at once. An Attack level of at least 70 is needed to use the abyssal whip, but fortunately, there are several other weapons, at this tier and higher, that can provide direct Strength experience.
